On July 21, 2021, the 2021 Meeting of Economic Activity Analysis and Mid-year Work of Beijing Energy International Holdings Co., Ltd. was held in Hohhot. With a problem-oriented approach, the meeting summarized and reviewed the achievements and experience of work in the first half of the year, identified problems and shortcomings in production, operation, and development, analyzed and judged the weak links in the current situation and sustainable development, and deployed the key tasks in the second half of the year and beyond. The meeting further unified ideas and built consensus that efforts should be made to complete all tasks and objectives of the whole year by the end of 2021 and accelerate the strategic transformation of the company.





Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Board of Directors, made an important speech Maintaining Strategic Focus, Taking the Initiative, Conducting Innovation, and Shouldering Responsibilities, to Meet the Company’s Yearly Goal. President Zhu Jun delivered a work report Continue to Work Hard, Stay Motivated, Seek Innovated Development, and Improve Quality and Efficiency, Ensuring the Completion of the Company’s Annual Operation and Management Goals.



Zhang Ping pointed out that, during the first half of 2021, Beijing Energy International has worked hard with unity, achieving a lot in strategy making, market development, engineering construction, financing, production and operation, risk control and compliance, and Party building. All regional branches, integrated energy companies and the Australian company took the initiative to speed up resource reserves around the company’s overall thinking of “base construction, regionalization, and internationalization”, putting in place projects one after another; completed ICBC debt-to-equity swap and USD convertible bond raising and continued to promote the implementation of industrial funds and REITs, effectively reducing the company’s financial pressure; new projects have been successfully launched, and the safety and quality of the projects under construction are under control; safe production and operation have remained stable, and the half-year operating profits have exceeded expectations.

Zhang Ping stressed that in the second half of 2021, all employees should remain clear-headed, deeply aware of the fierce competition and huge challenges facing the company, maintain strategic focus, and continue to work hard so as to ensure the company’s sustained, rapid and sound development while meeting all the targets. He put forward five requirements on the key tasks in the second half of the year and beyond: firstly, changing ideas and concepts is the core competitiveness for the company to achieve sustainable development. It is important to enhance the awareness of strategic transformation, break traditional thinking, and attach importance to the value of digitalization and new technologies; secondly, the implementation of the progressive development, construction and operation of resources is the cornerstone for the company to achieve sustainable development. It is necessary to further refine the development roadmap, enhance the faithful implementation of the plan, increase the development of integrated energy business, serve the capital while focusing on the key development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, adhere to high-quality development, and make reasonable financing arrangements; Thirdly, reshaping the organizational structure and management system is an inevitable requirement for the company to achieve sustainable development. It is important to promote the establishment of agile organizations, put in place a scientific and efficient decision-making mechanism, and enhance risk management to pay attention to compliance. Fourthly, building a cohesive corporate culture is the driving force for the company to achieve sustainable development. It is necessary to establish the cultural foundation of the company, realize the mutual development of the company and its employees, enhance the team capacity building, and strengthen the incentives to promote the development of the company. Fifthly, strengthening characteristic Party building is a powerful engine for the company to achieve sustainable development. Efforts should be made to carrying out Party building work with innovation, find the right direction and conduct party building work in a down-to-earth manner, and attach great importance to integrity, self-discipline, and supervision.



Zhu Jun pointed out in the report that in the first half of 2021, Beijing Energy International worked hard in unity to strengthen the top-level planning, expand the market, enhance the development momentum, and improve the governance structure and management authorization around the “14th Five-Year” development strategy, better production and operation management, solution to historical problems, and advancement in standardized construction. The company’s operation and management has been improved continuously, achieving good results in various tasks.

Zhu Jun stressed that in the second half of 2021 the following work should be done: firstly, it is important to deepen reforms and continue to unleash the vitality of the company; secondly, it is important to outline the direction and effectively enhance the development momentum; thirdly, efforts should be made to improve the quality and continue to improve the capital management; fourthly, efforts should be made to reduce costs and increase efficiency to improve market competitiveness; fifthly, it is important to discharge responsibilities and enhance safe production; sixth, it is important to cultivate the good corporate culture of integrity.

The meeting was held in the offline form coupled with video calls. It was also attended by Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Guoxi, Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee Zhang Daifu, and Vice Presidents Liu Dongsheng, Huang Hui, Jia Geng, and Wang Liuhu.
