BJ ENERGY INTL Held Its 2022 Work Conference:Continuously Promoting the Company’s High-quality Development and Achieving New Breakthroughs

On January 29, 2022, Beijing Energy International held its 2022 work conference during which the work of the past year and the current business landscape was systemically reviewed and analyzed, and the key tasks and objectives of 2022 was defined and deployed. Building on these, consensus was formed and new strength was mobilized to forge ahead towards the high-quality and rapid development during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period as well as towards the goal of building the company into a first-class international clean energy provider and green investor and operator.




Zhang Ping, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered an important speech entitled “Stay well-focused, reinforce our strength, promote business values, make firm steps in continuously promoting the company’s high-quality development and achieving new breakthroughs”. President Zhu Jun made critical remarks on behalf of the management, which entitled “Comprehensively improve management level, and strive to build the company into a first-class international clean energy provider and green investor and operator featured by high quality, rapid innovation and development”.




Zhang Ping pointed out that despite the fierce competition in 2021, the company made clear its strategic direction, spared no effort to promote business values, leveraged its status as a red-chip listed company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and its market-oriented mechanism, successfully achieved the goals and scored remarkable results in installed capacity, profit parameters, etc. Over the same period, the company has made sustained efforts in other aspects as well, which include ICBC’s equity financing, credit loan and US dollar bond issuance, promoted the issuance of public offerings of REITs, strengthened financial management, optimized debt structure and safeguarded the interests of investors. It has consolidated the foundation of safe production, refined cost control, fully strengthened marketing, engineering construction and operation efficiency. It also has enhanced efficient decision-making, optimized management standards, raised risk compliance awareness, and effectively built a legal firewall. All of its employees fully devoted to their work whenever and wherever they were during the entire year. “Stick to the end!” This is the common belief and genuine spirit of the entire team. 

Zhang Ping emphasized that 2022 was a key year for the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, and a new starting point of a new voyage, and the whole team set to hoist the sails. In the new year, the company will transition from “a field plot” of mixed-ownership reform of SOE to “a high-quality and high-yielding plot”. To achieve this, the company needs to stay well-focused and attain the company’s first-class strategic goal, reinforce its platform and reform, optimize its basic management system to ensure effective compliance. Meanwhile, the company should promote business values, hone its core competitiveness, and hasten its transformation and upgrading. The company should maintain a steady growth and plan ahead amid the throat-cutting race and realize its sustainable and healthy development.

Pivoting on the company’s “14th Five-Year Plan” with key tasks set for 2022, Zhang Ping put forward four major requirements: Firstly, on development mode. The company should take root in the industry with a categorical positioning, and foster differentiated competitive advantages against time; Develop on its own strength according to local conditions, and improve the quality of business development; Serve the capital city of Beijing and target Tianjin and Hebei province to create a triangle prop with Beijing as the body and the other two as two wings; Steadily innovate business modalities to promote overseas operations; Benchmark itself with peer competitors, optimize its management, production, operation and engineering construction. Secondly, on management system. Draw a precise line between powers and responsibilities, promote business values, and improve the company’s management organizational structure; Build basic management system in an effective and efficient manner; Focus on compliance, risk prevention and control, and continuously promote integrated risk management. Thirdly, on business values. Multiple measures are needed, which include introducing strategic financing as one of the priorities of this year; Adopt a customer-centered approach and innovative technology, promote integrated energy business; Coordinate research activities, actively deploy energy storage business for the future market; Strengthen the role of science and technology, digital transformation, accumulation of technology and data assets to enable its development. Fourthly, on team building, strengthen our faith, keep pace with the times and speed up the building of team leadership; Tackle areas of weaknesses and unleash the development potential of human resources; Improve brand-building as well as corporate culture; Enhance CPC Party-building to make our team more cohesive and exercise strict self-discipline rules from within. 




Zhu Jun pointed out in the report that in 2021, under the leadership of the Board of Directors, all staff members worked together and diligently to seize the development opportunities of the industry, rapidly expanded the scale of the main business, optimized the corporate governance structure, organizational structure and professional manager mechanism, established the awareness of legal compliance, effectively address the challenges, and continuously improved the business management, all of which achieved good results.

Zhu Jun emphasized the key tasks for 2022 as follows: Firstly, improve management and internal strength and fully improve the basic management; Secondly, develop with high quality and considerable scale, and enhance the core competitiveness of clean energy industry; Thirdly, take equity finance as the main line and keep improving the capital structure; Fourthly, deepen the reform and create the vitality; Fifthly, optimize operation, reduce costs and increase efficiency, and boost market competitiveness; Sixthly, cautiously plan and deploy the work, and put infrastructure projects up and running timely and effectively; Seventhly, sound the alarm bell and build a secure defense line; Eighthly, enforce self-discipline and forge the soul of corporate culture.




During the meeting, the Company’s 2021 Commendation Decision was announced. Zhang Ping presented trophies to the winners of the 2022 Special Contribution Award, Outstanding Award and Star Employee Award. He signed the 2022 Responsibility Letter for Strictly Strengthening Self-discipline of the Party in an All-round Way with the representatives of the Party branch. Zhu Jun signed the 2022 Responsibility Letter for Business Performance Assessment Objectives and the 2022 Responsibility Letter for Safety and Environmental Protection Objectives with the representatives of branch companies and subsidiaries.

The meeting was held through a video link. Liu Guoxi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the company, Chairman of the Trade Union, Zhang Daifu, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Four Vice Presidents, Liu Dongsheng, Huang Hui, Jia Geng and Wang Liuhu, and other directors and department heads attended the meeting at the main venue, other members of the leadership team and middle-level managers of the branch companies and subsidiaries attended at their own venues.
