On January 27, Zhu Jun, Executive President of Beijing Energy International, met with a delegation led by Wang Mingjun, Senior Vice President in charge of energy business at Shanghai Electric Power Station Group and General Manager of the Turbine Plant of Shanghai Electric Power Generation Equipment Co., Ltd., in Beijing. The two parties exchanged views on potential cooperation in the power and energy sectors.

During the meeting, Shanghai Electric Power Station Group provided a comprehensive introduction to its core technologies and solutions for next-generation coal-fired power units. Their presentation focused on the latest progress and practical applications of these units in areas such as deep peak shaving, rapid load response, and maintaining safe and reliable operations across all working conditions. These technological advancements are specifically designed to provide the power system with stable, flexible, and efficient regulation capabilities as well as capacity support. Beijing Energy International shared its practical experience in the development, construction, and operation of large-scale energy bases, reflecting its strategic position as a clean energy investment platform. The company also analyzed the new requirements imposed on system regulation by the high-proportion integration of renewable energy into the grid. The two sides exchanged professional views on the application scenarios, technical economics, and long-term reliability of deep peak shaving for next-generation coal-fired units, while exploring their collaborative value in supporting renewable energy consumption and enhancing overall grid stability.
Both parties agreed that driving energy technology upgrades and ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power system are shared responsibilities and significant development opportunities for the industry. Moving forward, the two companies will closely monitor energy technology trends and actively explore opportunities for technical exchange and project collaboration. These efforts will be directed toward the common goal of building a new type of power system and contributing to the industry’s acceleration toward a green, low-carbon energy transition.
